Admission Requirements

YEAR 1 ENTRY

Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Candidates

Level 3 or above in English Language and Chinese Language ¹ ; and
Level 2 or above in Mathematics and Liberal Studies; and
Level 2 or above in one Elective subject ² .

 

 ¹  Non-Chinese speaking applicants should have gained a Grade E or above in one of the six language subjects offered in HKDSE (Category C) in place of Chinese Language
 ²  or "Attained" / "Attained with Distinction" in an Applied Learning subject (Category B)

 

YEAR 3 ENTRY

Associate Degree / Higher Diploma Holders

Associate Degree / Higher Diploma holders or students holding equivalent qualifications are eligible to apply for admission to Year 3 of our programmes.

Students entering at Year 3 are required to take at least 60 out of a total of 120 credits and are expected to complete their studies in 2 years.

Other Candidates

Applicants holding non-local qualifications such as General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCEAL), International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) are welcome to apply.

Applicants who have completed a recognised Pre-Associate Degree / Foundation Programme can also apply for admission to Year 1. 

Other equivalent qualifications will also be considered on a case-by-case basis.

 
 
 
 

 

ADVANCED STANDING

Like other universities, Centennial College has Advanced Standing arrangements for students with particular academic backgrounds. Advanced Standing may be granted in recognition of work undertaken previously in high schools, community colleges, universities or other educational institutions.

Associate Degree or Higher Diploma holders who are seeking direct entry to a senior year of our programmes may be granted up to 60 credits of Advanced Standing on admission.

Students who have previously completed their secondary education with outstanding results in International Baccalaureate (IB) or GCE A-Level, and those who have undertaken post-secondary studies in other universities or educational institutions may apply for Advanced Standing by indicating a preference of “Admissions with Advanced Standing” in the application form and submitting relevant supporting documents for the College’s consideration.

In all events, the number of Advanced Standing credits to be granted will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
