Biography

Helen completed her doctorate in Education in 2015, specialising in English Language and Literature. She is continuing to conduct research on EFL teaching and the professional development of EFL teachers. Helen has published articles in refereed academic journals and frequently attends conferences on teaching and learning. She serves as an Editorial Advisor for The Unique Research Analysis, an internationally recognised research journal. Helen is a member of the Journal of Asia TEFL and she has received the HKU SPACE Community College Staff Performance Award (2002) and Outstanding Teacher Award (2012).

Prior to joining the College, Helen’s teaching experiences include both Community College and public school teaching in the USA and in Hong Kong, where she has taught English to students of all ages and proficiency levels. Helen has coordinated English courses and has experience in syllabus design, course material development and assessment for young adults. She has taught Academic Writing and Speaking courses, English for Academic and Professional Purposes and IELTS preparation.
