Upon graduation, students will be:

  • Recognised by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) as accountancy degree holders and as having fulfilled the stipulated pre-entry educational requirements; and qualified as professional accountants by successfully completing the HKICPA Qualification Programme (QP) and obtaining relevant working experience;
  • Eligible for exemption in up to 9 papers from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA);
  • Eligible for direct entry to the professional level examinations of CPA Australia;
  • Eligible for exemption in up to 6 papers from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA); and
  • Eligible for exemption in up to 7 papers from the Association of International Accountants (AIA)*; and
  • Eligible for exemption in up to 4 papers from the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries (HKICS)

* The paper exemption is currently under re-assessment and is subject to AIA's approval.

Accounting Internship

To provide you with more exposure and training in the accounting profession, the programme offers a new elective in the form of an "Accounting Internship" which offers a 6-credit accounting internship opportunity during the Second Semester from January to April in their Year 3 study. Students will be able to:

  • Build on the professional knowledge acquired in classroom learning;
  • Gain valuable and solid experience in a working environment in accounting related fields, which include accounting, auditing or taxation work in CPA firms; internal financial and management accounting work in industrial and commercial companies, as well as in non-profit sectors; and
  • Develop a range of generic skills (such as critical thinking, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills) that are important in enhancing the future employment opportunities of our students
