Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) - Social Behaviour and Public Policy

Social Behaviour and Public Policy

Current international trends in policy analyses indicate that behavioural science approaches are regularly applied to drafting policy decisions. The major introduces students to many lively-debated public policy challenges, such as housing affordability, environmental pollution, and governance issues that range from small neighbourhoods to mega cities. Students are expected to confront these fundamental problems in society, the political landscape and their own behaviours, along with devising actions to address such issues, in order to improve the overall quality of life. The major emphasises problem-solving and policy analysis skills which will enable students to pursue careers in the civil service, business management, urban planning, consultancy, and non-governmental advocacy groups.
