Centennial College Enters into a New Era
Professor William K.M. Lee
Centennial College is committed to providing the finest liberal arts education to its students. I would like to share with you a number of strategic initiatives that are designed to significantly enhance the development of the College for the years that lie ahead.
New Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) Programme
A new Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) has been successfully accredited for launching in June 2017. In this connection, there are three programmes that are available to students for 2017 admissions:
Non-means-tested Annual Subsidy of HK$32,100 from the Government
We are very happy to learn that our College is one of the institutions selected for the recent Government initiative to provide an annual subsidy of HK$32,100 to eligible HKDSE graduates. It is worth noting that recipients of the new Government Subsidy will also be eligible for the College Scholarship and Tuition Waiver Schemes.
5-Year Strategic Plan
A Strategic Plan for 2017-22 was formulated in December 2016 in order to facilitate future development of the College. Since then, the College has expanded the portfolio of student exchange partners with 5 institutions in US, Japan, Singapore and Indonesia. We are also working towards a Master’s degree that, it is hoped, will be launched in 2019.
We trust that these updates give you an overview of the exciting developments that lie ahead for the College.
